The antiproteolytic factors of habu venom were studied. Proteolytic activity of habu venom was inhibited by habu serum and akamata serum. Proteolytic activity of habu venom was not inhibited by soybean trypsin inhibitor, rice bran proteinase inhibitor and porcine serum. Two proteinase inhibitors, against trypsin and habu venom proteinase, exist in habu serum and akamata serum, and they seemed to be different proteins. Antiproteolytic activity of habu venom is higher in habu serum than akamata serum.
