Abstract
Five years of research on the annual migration of A. guldenstadti Brandt and A. stellatus Pallas is presented. Data on sex ratio, size, weight and age of their spawning populations are presented. Reproduction of the sturgeons in the upper Akhtuba River is discussed. Increasing the water content of the river and providing a free passage for the sturgeons to their spawning grounds is recommended. This will improve natural reproduction of migrating sturgeons in this area.
