Abstract
The green parts of the peat moss S. recurvum Pal. were tested to evaluate the level of pollution of the natural environment in the region of the Skawina Al works (southern Poland) with Fl compounds and SO2. The moss samples were placed in nylon nets and exposed to the polluted air for 6 wk, and the F and S content was then determined. The results demonstrated the usefulness of this method to establish the range of influence of emitted industrial pollution.
