Abstract
Fast and reliable selection of R. meliloti and R. trifolii during their symbiosis with the plant [clover, lucerne] by the acetylene method is proposed. The plants were bred in Erlenmeuer flasks of 250 ml capacity in the conditions of stable temperature, humidity and the length of the day. Under these conditions the active strains differed from the non-active by their nitro-fixating activity on the 14th day of the experiment already.
