The vegetation of the northeastern serengeti national park tanzania

, : The vegetation of the northeastern serengeti national park tanzania. Phytocoenologia 3(1): 30-82

According to the Braun-Blanquet method the following plant communities of the northeastern part of the Serengeti National Park (Tanzania) could be clearly defined: swamp vegetation (1 association with 3 subassociations), savanna vegetation (3 associations with a total of 5 subassociations) and thicket vegetation (1 association with 2 subassociations). The site conditions, especially the relationship between plant communities and soil types, are described. The different phases of degradation of the thickets, their ecological status and their future succession are discussed.
