The visual evoked potential in a group of uremic patients after more than ten years of hemodialysis

, : The visual evoked potential in a group of uremic patients after more than ten years of hemodialysis. Annali di Ottalmologia e Clinica Oculistica 111(12 SUPPL): 1367-1375

The Authors consider the behaviour of the Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP) in a group of uraemic patients who have been receiving haemodialysis treatment for more than ten years. For conformation they examine also another group of patients who have been dialysed for less than one year and finally a control group of normal subjects. The two dialysed patients groups both show a significant increase of P wave latency, both with major and minor angolar value targets; there are no actual modifications of the VEP in relation with the different dialytic ages. On the contrary, the results concerning VEP amplitude are scarcely interesting.
