Transfers of some nearctic genera and species of glyphipterigidae to oecophoridae copromorphidae new record plutellidae and tortricidae lepidoptera

Transfers of some nearctic genera and species of glyphipterigidae to oecophoridae copromorphidae new record plutellidae and tortricidae lepidoptera

Pan Pacific Entomologist 54(1): 48-55

Genera and species formerly in Glyphipterigidae (auctorum) are newly transferred to other families: Glyphipteryx quinqueferella Walsingham (with lectotype designation) to Oecophoridae (near Fabiola), Lotisma to Copromorphidae, Ellabella to Plutellidae, and Hilarographa, Mictropsichia, Idiothauma and Thaumatographa to Tortricidae. Homadaula is returned to Plutellidae. Thelethia extranea (Edwards) is noted to be in Tegeticula after a previous transfer. Spilogenes Meyrick (from China) is a new synonym of Ellabella Busck with Ellabella chalazombra comb. nov. (Spilogenes chalazombra Meyrick). The family Copromorphidae is newly extended into the North American fauna. Lotisma trigonana (Walsingham) larvae were reared from Arbutus menziesii Pursh and Gaultheria shallon Pursh (Ericaceae); Homadaula anisocentra Meyrick larvae feed on Albizzia and Gleditsia (Leguminosae); and Hilarographa regalis (Walsingham) feed on roots of Pinus sabiniana Douglas (Pinaceae).
