Tremellostereum nov. gen. is described with T. dichroum comb. nov. [basonym: Stereum dichroum] (Lloyd) Ryv. as type species. It is characterized by a steroid fruitbody, covered by a cottony tomentum and has cruciate basidia with 2 sterigmata.
