Trend of blood pressure in a sample of 1134 children aged 6 11 years results and hypotheses

, : Trend of blood pressure in a sample of 1134 children aged 6 11 years results and hypotheses. Aggiornamento Pediatrico 37(5-6): 265-269

The authors, by means of sequential distribution curves of blood pressure values, studied the behavior of blood pressure in a sample of 1134 students ranging in age from 6 to 11 years. While blood pressure values beteen 7 and 8 years had a progressive slight but non-significant increase, between 9 and 10 years the increase in blood pressure values was highly significant. This result led the authors to consider the role of sexual cortical-adrenal hormones, which increase between 9 and 10 years of age in relation to this increase of blood pressure values.
