Trends in the incidence of breast feeding for hispanics of mexican origin and anglos on the usa mexico border

, : Trends in the incidence of breast feeding for hispanics of mexican origin and anglos on the usa mexico border. American Journal of Public Health 72(1): 59-61

In 1979 the USA-Centers for Disease Control conducted a household probability survey of reproductive aged women living in 51 selected USA counties on the USA-Mexico border. Information on the incidence of breast feeding for the period 1971-1979 was analyzed on 345 Anglo women and 689 Hispanic women of Mexican origin. The Anglos are following the national trend of increased breast feeding, but Hispanics show no indication of an increase in the practice of breast feeding.
