Trh test in subclinical thyroid disease

, : Trh test in subclinical thyroid disease. Bollettino Societa Italiana Biologia Sperimentale 58(11): 663-665

The TRH test is a useful tool for diagnostic purposes in thyroid disease. Four groups of patients (non toxic diffuse goiter, nodular goiter (Plummer's disease), euthyroid ophthalmic Graves' disease and hemithyroidectomy) who showed no symptoms and presented normal values of total thyroid hormones, in comparison with a control group were challenged with TRH. These groups displayed normal and pathological (blunted or absent and exaggerated) responses of TSH to TRH. The TRH-test represents a good way to recognize subclinical forms of both hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.

It is shown that highly focused pulses can be shaped by exciting a finite aperture with a spread-out pulse train of X waves. The basis of the proposed scheme is that the peaks of X waves, characterized by different apex angles, travel at different...

The study was performed on one embalmed human cadaver. P...
