Triassic corals of the dalnegorsk region of the southern primorski krai russian sfsr ussr

A study carried out of triassic corals showed that Coryphyllia and Margarophyllia species were characteristic of the initial stage of carbonate accumulation. The presence of colonial forms (Pachysolenia, Volzeia, Protoheterastraea, Cerioheterastraea, Retiophyllia, Palaeastraea, Kuhnastraea, Distichomeandra, Oedalmia, Stylophyllum, Heterastraea) was typical for the Carnian-Norian stage. The coral communities of southern Primorski Krai were found to be similar (on both the genus and species level) to the ones in Japan, southeastern China, Timor lake, southeastern Pamirs, and the Italian and Austrian Alps.
