Use of the absorption spectroscopy method for the study of the primary electron transfer processes in photosynthetic reaction centers

Use of the absorption spectroscopy method for the study of the primary electron transfer processes in photosynthetic reaction centers

Biologicheskie Nauki (Moscow) (4): 102-110

The two beam picosecond absober spectrometer equipped on the base of microprocessor technique and system of modules in KAMAC standard is described. In the optical part of the device a laser stand with active elements on ytterbium aluminium garnet which generates the light pulses with duration 30 ps and frequency up to 5 Hz in a wide spectral range is used. The sensitivity of spectrometer is 3.10-3 optical units, time resolution is reactions of the electron transfer in reaction centers of photosynthetic bacteria and pigment-protein complexes of photosystem I of higher plants obtained with the help of the given spectrometer are presented.
