Use of thermal energy analyzer in the analysis of nitrosamines volatile nitrosamines in samples of italian beers

Use of thermal energy analyzer in the analysis of nitrosamines volatile nitrosamines in samples of italian beers

Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete der Lebensmitteluntersuchung und Hygiene 74(2): 110-120

The TEA (Thermal Energy Analyser) is the instrument of choice because of its specificity for detection of nitrosamines, its speed of analysis and the accuracy of results. The paper describes the TEA procedure and reports the results obtained in the analysis of volatile N-nitroso compounds in beer samples available on the Italian market. The lower limit of NDMA detection appears to be 0.3 ppb; levels lower than 0.9 ppb can be defined as trace.
