Abstract
Variation in vegetation density and foredune complexity were evaluated for five sites along North Padre Island, Texas. Three-dimensional plots of foredune topography with suprimposed vegetation-density isolines graphically illustrate differences, which were statistically significant, among the five test sites. The study suggest that this variation is the result of differences in recreational use, in particular vehicular traffic, along this section of the Texas barrier-island system.
