Whole body auto radiography of distribution of carbon 14 labeled 2 deoxy glucose in mice

Whole body auto radiography of distribution of carbon 14 labeled 2 deoxy glucose in mice

Acta Histochemica et Cytochemica 13(2): 202-210

Distribution of radioactive C in tissues from mice injected in vivo with [1-14C]-2-deoxyglucose was studied by whole-body autoradiography of 6% cold perchloric acid treated sections and utreated sections. There were certain tissues and organs in which significant amounts of radioactive C from [1-14C]-2-deoxyglucose were incorporated into acid-insoluble substances. They were muscular tissues such as the diaphragm, skeletal muscle, myocardium and small and large intestinal muscles. The metabolic system for 2-deoxyglucose is apparently different in various tissues and organs.
