In a pot experiment tall fescue and meadow fescue were fertilized with different rates of N after 1st cut. At the start, tall fescue produced lower yields than meadow fescue. After full establishment, tall fescue was superior to meadow fescue. Under conditions of high N supply tall fescue exhibited vigorous regrowth.
