Abstract
The analysis of the results of the study of Iris acutiloba, I. elegantissima, I. camille, I. carthalinae, Iridodictyum reticulatum, and Juno caucasicamade it possible to determine their diagnostic and ecological characteristics, as well as to reveal the structural specialization of the species. Common traits were found in the structure of the bulb and rhizome plants. Differences in these plants are associated with the different pathways of their evolution. A developed conduction system was found in endemics. This fact can be explained by a high level of their adaptation to the favourable conditions of their habitats. Apparently, the rarity and disappearance of the species at the present time, are associated with intensive xerophytization.
