The activity of auditory interneurons in the neck connectives of freely moving bushcricket Tettigonia cantans was recorded by metallic microelectrodes. 4 types of cells were revealed. Most of characteristic of neurons in freely moving bushcrickets distinguish from the same in immobilized insects. The frequency threshold curves can change during the experiment. The change of directional sensitivity was observed in neurons of I type during the experiment. The locomotion can inhibit the activity of neurons of I and II types, but doesn't affect on the cells of III and IV types. The neurons of II, III and IV types are sensitive to the sound stimuli only; the cells of I type and some of II type, respond to visual stimuli and vibrations also and evidently take part in defensive reactions.
