Abstract
The midwife toad Alytes obstetricans has never been frequent in the canton of Geneva. Although a few isolated observations have been notified in the past, a single population was known. From 1986 to 1988, this colony has been studied by the author, within his biology diploma work at the University of Geneva. The author presents the different observations done. He also discusses the distribution of the midwife toad in Geneva, mentioning the recent discovery of a second colony.
