Cd1a cd1b cd1c in human thymus

Cd1a cd1b cd1c in human thymus

Bollettino Societa Italiana Biologia Sperimentale 64(11): 999-1005

The authors have analysed the expression of CD1a, CD1b, CD1c antigens during human thymic ontogenesis. Thymuses at 15th, 17th,19th,25th weeks of gestational age were examined. Pediatric thymuses were also investigated. The results have shown that CD1a and CD1c antigens are early(15th week) expressed on the membrane surface of the major part of thymocytes. CD1b is not present on the membrane but only in the perinuclear area of thymocytes between 15th and 19th week of gestation. CD1a, CD1b and CD1c were coexpressed on the membrane of thymoctes at 25th week of gestation and of pediatric thymocytes.
