The variation of six growth and reproduction traits in the parthenogenetical clones of Daphnia magna was studied at three food concentrations. Broad sense heritability estimates obtained were rather high and comparible with those known from other authors. Several genotype-environment interactions were detected. We discuss probable mechanisms maintaining the genetic variation of life-history traits in Daphnia population.
