Corynespora leaf spot is recorded for the first time in Brazil on rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.). In Manaus, Corynespora cassi2832608Berk and Curt.) Wei caused defoliation of clonal stumps and trees of the clone IAN717, while other clones were unaffected. Leaf spots were irregularly circular with the central area light brown to whitish, and a reddish brown to dark brown margin. These symptoms may be confused with three other leaf spots of rubber trees, therefore confirmation of the diagnosis requires verification using a microscope. The disease was controlled in nursery conditions through the application of benomyl at 0.075% a.i.
