Disease incidence severity and pod yield of winged bean psophocarpus tetragonolobus accessions and psophocarpus scandens

Psophocarpus scandens accession was resistant to leaf spot and leaf curl and less susceptible to yellow mosaic, necrotic mosaic and Choanephora flower blight when compared with P. tetragonolobus accessions. Leaf spot disease [Pseudocerosoura psophocarpi] was positively correlated with plant age. P. scandens yielded the highest number of pods and seeds and pod dry weight per plant. Among P. tetragonolobus accessions UPS 99, SLS 7, TPT 1 and UPS 45 produced comparatively good pod yields.
