Effect of soil application of manganese on dry matter yield and uptake of manganese and iron by wheat triticum aestivum l

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of different doses of manganese on dry matter production and iron and manganese uptake by wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in eight different soils of Rajasthan [India]. In general, applciation of 40 kg MnSO4/ha increased the dry matter production of wheat significantly. The uptake of iron decreased and that of manganese increased with increasing application of manganese sulphate. The Fe:Mn ratio was not related with the dry matter yield.
