Effect of sublethal dosages of teflubenzuron and triflumuron on fecundity fertility and adult longevity of the beet armyworm spodoptera exigua huebner lepidoptera noctuidae

Effect of sublethal dosages of teflubenzuron and triflumuron on fecundity fertility and adult longevity of the beet armyworm spodoptera exigua huebner lepidoptera noctuidae

Mededelingen van de Faculteit Landbouwwetenschappen Universiteit Gent 53(1): 245-248

The fecundity of Spodoptera exigua (Huebner) was reduced significantly from 318 .+-. 39 (in control) to 264 .+-. 33; 236 .+-. 32; 312 .+-. 21 and 155 .+-. 19 eggs after treatment of the adults with 20 and 40 ppm teflubenzuron and 2 and 4 ppm triflumuron, respectively. Egg hatch was significantly decreased in the respective treatments from 68% (in control) to 36%, 4%, 36% and 0%. Adult longevity was not significantly affected and ranged between 5.5 .+-. 0.7 and 6.8 .+-. 0.6 days.
