Effects of hand arm transmitted vibration on hand manipulative dexterity



Journal of Human Ergology 17(1): 87-90



This experiment was conducted on 49 men and 41 women. The findings suggest that short-duration vibration exposure affects the functions of the hand-arm system especially in sensitivity to vibration and skin temperature of the hands. The vibrotactile threshold rose significantly in exposed groups. However, there were no significant differences on the Purdue Pegboard test scores when exposed groups and control groups were compared.
