Fertility following estrus induction in murrah buffaloes with different routes of prostaglandin f 2 alpha administration

Fertility following estrus induction in murrah buffaloes with different routes of prostaglandin f 2 alpha administration

Indian Veterinary Medical Journal 14(4): 242-244

Estrus was synchronized in subestrus buffaloes using prostaglandin F2 alpha by intra-uterine route and vulvomucus injection. The interval between infusion/injection to estrus was noted to be 4.10 .+-. 0.29 and 4.00 .+-. 0.28 days respectively. The fertility response was 90 percent in uterine and 80 percent in subvulvar injection. The results were promising, hence reduced prostaglandin was effective in inducing estrus in a synchronized way.
