G banding and high resolution chromosome analysis for recurrent spontaneous abortion

The G-banding and high-resolution chromosome technique (HRC) were used for analyzing 39 couples with recurrent spontaneous abortion. 7 cases with abnormal karyotypes were found, accounted for 8.9%, inclusive of 2 complex-translocations, 4 reciprocal-translocations and 1 Robertsonian-translocation. In investigated pedigree another case with complex-translocation as found. The breakpoints of abnormal chromosome were accurately located by HRC. The clinical application of HRC is discussed.
