Abstract
Bound volatiles of dried clove buds and fresh green clove leaves were studied by Svendsen's method, using both .beta.-glucosidase and .alpha.-amyloglucosidase for enzyme hydrolysis. Apart from aliphatic alcohols and monoterpene alcohols, eugenol, isoeugenol, farnesol and nerolidol were identified as aglycones.
