Growth of limb bones in ravi nili buffalo calves



Pakistan Journal of Zoology 22(3): 245-248



In male buffalo-calves, the maximum bone growth was recorded at proximal femur (197 .mu.m/day in six months old group and 295 .mu.m/day in 2 years old group), followed by proximal humerus, distal radius, proxmial radius and distal humerus. The growth at all the growth plates was rapid in 2 years old group as compared to 6 months old group.
