A 2-year field trial conducted at Diphu under rainfed condition showed that intercropping and mixed cropping of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) with maize (Zea mays L.), greengram (Phaseolus radiatus L.) and blackgram (P. mungo L.) were found successful. Among the treatments, greengram + sesame intercropping recorded the highest net income of Rs 3,712.64/ha, with a maximum benefit : cost ratio 2.33.
