Cytogenetical and gynaecological studies were carried out on an eight year old buffalo with irregular breeding history. The animal had mosaicism of two cell lines (51,XX in 22.67% and 50,XX in 67.33%) with normal reproductive organs and the tract. The extra chromosome was identified as the fifth submetacentric autosome by conventional staining and confirmed with the G-banding technique.
