Nematodes of the genus ascarophis spirurata ascarophidae from fish from the white sea

Nematodes of the genus ascarophis spirurata ascarophidae from fish from the white sea

Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta Seriya XVI Biologiya (1): 58-63

Mature and larval forms of suborder Spirurata genus Ascarophis were found in The White Sea cod. Adult forms were identified as A. filiformis and Ascarophis sp. (seemingly A. filiformis). A moult larva (IV-V stage) was determined as Ascarophis sp. (seemingly A. japonicus). Diverse armament of eggs Ascarophis sp. (=A. filiformis) cannot be regarded as a valid characteristic. Some aspects of biology of A. filiforms were discussed. Rare occurrence of nematodes of the genus Ascarophis in the White Sea fishes is noted.
