Vegetative segments (leaves, rhizomes or bulb-scales) of some species of the Liliaceae family, cultivated in vitro, produced plantlets. The same fragments subjected to repeated subcultures (up to 4th-5th generations) produced morphologically stable plantlets. Examination of chromosomes in cells of root tips of the initial plant and of all subcultures in vitro in the species considered, confirmed a constant stability in their number and structure.
