This paper deals with the organization of the nesting cycle of the digger wasp Podalonia, especially the initial stage of this cycle, namely, the prey-paralyzation phase. The development of this phase was previously analyzed in terms of functional rules. In these experiments, the stimulating situation was designed with a view to determining in particular the rules (transition rules) governing the passage from one action to the next one, and to reduce the previously stated transition rules to a more parsimonious description.
