Preservation of the pathogenicity of the causal agent of rice sheath blight rhizoctonia solani kuehn. during cultivation on artificial nutrient media

An attempt was made to develop methods for R. solani cultivation for breeding purposes and to study the preservation of its pathogenicity during cultivation on artificial culture media. R. solani was isolated from rice plants collected in Krasnodar Krai, Russian SFSR, USSR. The best results were observed when the culture was kept at low temperatures without re-inoculation or when it is passaged regularly through the host plant.
