Quantitative evaluation of the effect of factors caused by the procedure of measurement on the determination of the electrical properties of a biological object by surface electrodes

Quantitative evaluation of the effect of factors caused by the procedure of measurement on the determination of the electrical properties of a biological object by surface electrodes

Fiziologiya Cheloveka 14(6): 1012-1019

Experiments were carried out in 4 essentially healthy subjects. A mathematical model was designed that made it possible to describe the measurements of electrical parameters in a random subject with a relative error that is not higher than 15%. The parameters can be ranked on the basis of the level of the significance of their influence on the results of the measurements. The intensity of current which flows through an object does not depend on the pressure of an electrode on the surface of the body. The interval of such pressures was revealed. It made it possible to simplify significantly methods for measuring the electrical properties of the skin in the electrode area. The prospects were shown for using the methods of the theory of experiment planning for the purposes of the metrologically substantiated selection of the regimens of measurements.
