Oral administration of 75 mg/kg body wt. metanil yellow of albino rat on alternate day elicited significant changes in five fundamental constituents viz: carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, minerals (ash) and moisture (water content) of kidney. The study was made at two time intervals i.e. after 30 and 60 days. A more or less dose dependent loss of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids was observed in treated rats while minerals and water content exhibited higher values.
