Seasonal occurrence of green peach aphid myzus persicae on peach prunus persica tree

Seasonal occurrence of green peach aphid myzus persicae on peach prunus persica tree

Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 59(10): 658-660

Variation in the density of peach green alphid [Myzus persicae (Sulz.)] was studied during 1987-88 from sprouting to dropping of leaves in peach [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch.]. The aphid started activity soon after sprouting of leaves and in the last week of February it became a serious problem. The highest peak of aphid activity was seen in March, after which its population declined. No aphid activity was observed from the second week of May to mid-November during 1987, and from the third week of April to mid-November in 1988. Mean maximum temperature, minimum temperature and sunshine showed negative correlation, but the relative humidity showed positive correlation.
