Seroepidemiological study of flavivirus infections in animals in tripura state india

Indian Veterinary Journal 67(10): 908-912

The present investigation was conducted with a view to estimate the rate of prevalence of flavivirus infections in Tripura State. Among the 136 sera examined, the sera positive for antibodies of JE, DEN-2 and WN antigens were 30 (22.1%), 9 (6.6%) and 6 (4.4%) respectively by HI test and 12 (8.8%), 11 (8.1%) and 9 (6.6%) respectively by CF test. Twenty four (17.6%) sera in HI test and 8 (5.9%) in the CF test were positive for antibodies to more than one antigen. Sera from pigs accounted for the largest percentage of positive in both HI and CF tests, while those from ducks were next in order. Sera from buffaloes and cattle gave almost identical values of positive reactors in HI and CF tests.
