Serologic response to iffavax vaccine by highly pregnant cows

Twenty eight highly gravid cows originating from litter with a known history of bovine herpes virus-1 (BHV-1) were vaccinated and revaccinated with Iffavax vaccine (Rhone Merieux, France). Serologic examination in blood serum at the time of vaccination (dry-up interval) and revaccination (three weeks postvaccination) established geometric means of the titre of neutralisation antibodies for BHV-1 of 9.99 and 29.65, respectively. Immediately postpartum, the means of 14 animals were 20.53 and 181.02 in blood serum and colostrum, respectively.
