Some peculiarities of humus substances and characteristics of the reflective ability of bratsk reservoir submerged soils russian sfsr ussr

It is shown that the comparative characteristics of optical properties of soil humous acids cannot be a diagnostic index of the direction of changes of soil humous substances caused by submersion. It is established that in submerged soils a more clear differentiation of low molecular humous substances according the genetic horizons takes place. In humic acids of derno-podzolic soils a long-term submersion causes a lowering of and an increase of its optical density. The form of the curves of reflective ability and ability and spectrophotometric coefficients give the definition of a number of processes in submerged soils-gleying, bleaching, and accumulation of amorphous iron.
