Studies of natural hybrids between scots pine pinus sylvestris l. and mountain pine pinus mugo turra in the south east rila mountains

Studies of natural hybrids between scots pine pinus sylvestris l. and mountain pine pinus mugo turra in the south east rila mountains

Nauka za Gorata 29(1): 39-43

The morphological and anatomical peculiarities of leaves of individuals growing close to the upper forest limit, in contract with the high-mountain ecotypes of Scots and mountain pines were analysed and assessed with respect to phenotypes. The individuals were found to have intermediate heredity, and they have probably occurred as a result of an introgressive hybridization between Scots and mountain pines.
