Studies on bluegreen alga spirulina tablets

Blue green alga Spirulina (cyanobacterial) is considered for use in health foods. Food grade Spirulina platensis was produced in clean water and the algal biomass was harvested by filtration and dried in sun or in a spray dryer. The powders were evaluated for tableting. Spray dried powder was found to be more suitable.
