The effect of fruiting method on the top-grafted tree of orange, the 'Miyauchi-Iyo', in earlier years of fruiting (one to four years after fruiting) on the quality in this year, the flowering in the next year, and the development of current shoot was examined. 1) In the broadcast fruiting, the thickening of fruit was better, the yield was more, and also the flowering bearing and the development of current shoot in the next year were more, but the quality was somewhat worse. 2) In the partial fruiting, the quality was excellent, but the thickening was inferior, the yield was less, and the number of flower bearing and development of current shoot in the next year were less. 3) In the fruiting at the lower part, the enlargement of crown was hastened by the development of summer and autumn shoots, but the thickening was inferior, the quality was worse, and also the number of flower bearing and development of current shoot were less. 4) From the above-mentioned results, it was clarified that as the fruiting method on the quality of fruit, the yield, the flower bearing and the development of current shoot in the next year, and others the broadcast fruiting was better.
