Studies on flowering pattern and yield of chickpea cicer arietinum l. under receding soil moisture conditions

Genotypes which were grown under rainfed conditions differed significantly in their developmental pattern. Genotypes, Sel, U24 .times. A1 which produced maximum number of flowers 25 days after flower initiation, produced maximum yields. Seed yield was significantly correlated with total number of flowers produced during 21 to 30 dyas after flower initiation (r-0.885), maximum pods set (r=0.871), and pods at harvest (r=0.969).
