Abstract
Peptides 114-144, 110-121, 122-131 and 132-144 were separated from .beta.-casein cleaved with cyanogen bromide, TPCK-trypsin and V8-protease from Staphylococcus aureus, and their antigenic reactivities with individual rabbit IgG antibody specific to peptide 110-144 were examined in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Peptide 114-144 had strong binding ability with individual IgG antibody specific to peptide 110-144, whereas no V8-proteolytic peptides, i.e. 110-121, 122-131 and 132-144, exhibited inhibitory activities towards the reaction of peptide 110-144 with its antibody. These results indicated that the antigenic site(s) in region 110-144 is associated with glutamyl peptide bonds at position 121 and/or 131.
