The effects of benzyladenine on the accumulation of messenger rnas that encode the large and small subunits of ribulose 1 5 bisphosphate carboxylase oxygenase and light harvesting chlorophyll a b protein in excised cucumber cotyledons

Benzyladenine promoted rapid accumulation of mRNAs that encoded the small subunit of ribulose-1,5-biphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (RuBisCO) and light-harvesting chlorophyll a/b protein in etiolated cucumber [Cucumis sativus] cotyledons, but only after prior incubation of the cotyledons in water. However, benzyladenine hardly affected the level of mRNA for the large subunit of RuBisCO.
