In this paper the characteristics of aridan (Tetrapleura tetraptera), a Nigerian plant molluscicide are described. The description suggests that steps should be taken to evaluate aridan using the integrated approach in the control of snail-borne diseases such as schistosomiasis and fascioliasis.
